Messmer High School has offered a wide variety of extra curricular activities, which gives students and teachers a chance to discover new things
that they enjoy, and also embrace an old interest they’ve had. Thorough the
years, Messmer’s variety of extra curricular activities has grown and has been
thriving because of student participation. Even though it’s the beginning of
the year, many clubs and sports have already started, a sure sign that it’ll be another
successful year for school activities.
The Extra Curricular Fair will be held September 19th
at 2:30 in the Commons area near the gym. All grades are invited to come check out all the things Messmer has to
offer and to sign up to get involved. In previous years students have had some great
experiences. Alexius Stanford, a junior,
said that she was interested in Forensics and possibly Debate. Sophomore Diamond Spencer
stated that she’s looking forward to basketball and track.
Mr.
Chad Hofmann, Computer Teacher, Football and Baseball Coach and the Business Club Advisor said that “Messmer has
great extra curricular activities, and maybe a few need to be added like a
wrestling team.” With Business Club this year he is looking forward to the
annual trip to Chicago and the Marquette competition. Mr. Hofmann also hopes students join Business Club because of the good word of mouth from
other students that have experienced Business Club in the past. Overall this year great potential and hopefully this year’s extra curricular activities are
fun for both the students and the teachers that run the clubs.
